The Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) has advised air travellers to arrive at airports earlier than usual following the introduction of enhanced security measures expected to result in longer waiting times.
In a statement to ZNBC News, the Corporation urged passengers travelling on international flights to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure time, while those on domestic flights should arrive at least two hours before departure.
ZACL said the enhanced security procedures were necessary to safeguard passengers, airport users and staff, as well as ensure the safety and smooth operation of airport facilities.
The Corporation has since apologised to travellers for any inconvenience caused by the additional screening procedures and urged passengers to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid missing their flights.
