President Hakainde Hichilema has urged young Zambian girls to reject proposals from older men, warning that such relationships often lead to abuse and that the men may return to their wives.
Speaking at the Youth Day celebrations in Solwezi on Thursday, President Hichilema encouraged young people to seek relationships with partners who can support them in building stable families. “I want the youths of Zambia to plan to raise families properly. If you are a young man, find a young woman to marry and build your future together,” he said.
The President also highlighted his administration’s achievements in youth employment, noting that more young people have been employed under his government than under many previous administrations.
In addition, President Hichilema announced plans to establish public universities across North-Western, Luapula, Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern Provinces, aiming to expand access to higher education for Zambian youth.
