PF fires back: Wynter has always been jealous of Lungu’s presidency

The Patriotic Front (PF) has hit back at Wynter Kabimba, describing his recent criticisms of the late former president Edgar Lungu as motivated by “petty jealousy” and personal vendetta.
PF Information and Publicity Secretary Emmanuel Mwamba said Kabimba’s attacks were “sick” and rooted in resentment over Lungu’s leadership. Former Agriculture Minister Greyford Monde also weighed in, urging seasoned politicians like Kabimba to remain in advisory roles rather than trying to remain at the government trough. “Archaic politicians must stay on their farms and offer guidance appropriately, instead of seeking to continue feeding from the state,” Monde said.
On Monday, Kabimba, who once served as Justice Minister, expressed surprise that some PF members are still active despite alleged involvement in past corruption. He further contrasted President Hakainde Hichilema (HH) with Lungu, asserting that HH is sober, disciplined, and serious-minded—qualities he claimed were lacking in Lungu.
In response, PF officials dismissed Kabimba’s comments as motivated by envy rather than reasoned critique, emphasizing that Lungu’s legacy continues to command respect within the party.
