Diss my music, I don’t care but attacking my kids hits me hard – Macky 2

Rapper Macky 2 says he has been in the music industry long enough to handle criticism directed at his music, fashion or personality. However, when the criticism shifts to his children, it becomes far more personal and painful.

Speaking on the podcast Dads Without Dads, hosted by BFlow, the rapper, whose real name is Mulaza Kaira, explained that the persona fans hear in his songs is very different from the man he is at home. He said many of the characters people associate with him only come alive on stage and in the studio, and do not reflect his true self as a father and husband.

Macky 2 revealed that he makes deliberate efforts to keep his family away from the public eye. Despite his fame, he said protecting his children’s privacy remains a top priority.

He cited his reality television show, King Buga, which aired on Zambezi Magic, as an example of how carefully he approaches family exposure. Before allowing cameras into their home, he and his wife held detailed discussions to agree on boundaries and ensure they were both comfortable with what would be shared publicly.

While he understands that being a public figure comes with scrutiny, Macky 2 stressed that his children did not choose the spotlight and should not be subjected to attacks. For him, criticism of his craft is part of the job, but dragging his family into it crosses a line he finds difficult to ignore.
